The Inn Of The Sixth Happiness - Movie Review - Now Available on Blu-ray and DVD!

Disclosure: I received a free copy for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own and reflect my own experiences with the movie.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:

All her life Englishwoman Gladys Aylward knew that China was the place where she belonged. Not qualified to be sent there as a missionary, Gladys works as a domestic to earn the money to send herself to a poor, remote village. There she eventually lives a full and happy life: running the inn, acting as "foot inspector", advising the local Mandarin and even winning the heart of mixed race Captain Lin Nan. But Gladys discovers her real destiny when the country is invaded by Japan and the Chinese children need her to save their lives. Based on a true story.

MY REVIEW:

I am so happy that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment decided to update this classic movie onto Blu-ray. My mother really loved this movie back when I was younger. So I have seen this movie quite a few times. How can you not love Oscar Winner Ingrid Bergman!?!? She was perfect in this movie. As was Curt Jurgens and Robert Donat.

The scenes in this movie with all of the beautiful locations look great. The scenery really is a very important part of a film. I also absolutely loved the Special Feature Audio Commentary from Nick Redman, Aubrey Solomon and Donald Spoto. I learned so much about the film that I never knew before.

But the story is where this movie truly shines. Ingrid Bergman portrays an English maid that must lead children of an entire village to safety as the Japanese invade the territory of China that she is currently living in as a missionary.

This movie was great back then and it still is today and now you can see it blu-ray!! I urge you to check it out today.
