I needed a Do-Over in my kitchen!

What do you think of that color in the picture above? It is the color that I JUST painted my kitchen. I thought I would love it, but it is taking some getting used to. My kitchen used to be just plain white. I got so sick of looking at the boring white ceilings, the boring white walls, the white stove, the white microwave. So I decided to change it up just a little bit. The orange color I chose is called "Orange Crush".

I painted the walls orange, stomped the ceiling, got some chrome appliances and some much needed wooden cabinets and an island, and a table and chairs. We also decided to do some painting in the master bedroom and the living room. I picked what some may call unusual colors in those rooms as well. I picked a red color called 'Art District' for my bedroom, and a brown called 'Barista' for the living room.

We're still not done. We still have wires sticking out here and there. We still have to do the trim and the lights and all of that. Everything is turned off and up high though, so there is no danger for my daughter. I am still unsure about the color though. I think it looks nice with the wooden cupboards and the wooden kitchen table and chairs... but like a lot of people, I will probably change my mind 100 times.

What do you think? Do you like the color? Is the orange too understated? Too much?

  1. Going from white to bold colors always takes awhile to get used to. Did you use satin or flat wall paint?

    1. I used Satin on the walls, and Flat on the ceilings.

  3. Wow, that is a bold color, but with the right touches it could be really pretty. I always wanted to go blue or yellow accents.
